Alberta Healthy Living (AHS)
The Alberta Healthy Living Program (AHLP) is an integrated community-based chronic disease management program.
The program includes the following services:
- Patient education, including disease-specific and general health and lifestyle topics
- Self-management support through Better Choices, Better Health™ workshops, tools and messaging
- Supervised exercises (facility- or home-based)
Services may also include specialty services and services targeting diverse and vulnerable populations. Group sessions are available on various topics including heart health, weight management, label reading and healthy cooking.

Better Beginnings
Prenatal Nutrition Program providing Non-Judgemental Support and Information on Healthy Lifestyle Choices for Pregnant and Parenting Women.. SERVICES PROVIDED: - Support in decision making and information about a healthy pregnancy -Coupons for milk, eggs, Slow Cooker Class, Cooking Club Class and exercise incentives - Free vitamin and mineral supplements, library card, items for baby, nutrition advice from a dietitian - Information about agencies that offer support -Breastfeeding Information -Collective food preparation and/or purchasing -Pre/postnatal information/support - available to all South zone rural offices.

FoodFit
FoodFit is a new program designed to bring people together to set goals, learn skills, and make measurable changes in overall health and fitness, with a focus on nutrition and exercise. Over the course of 12 weeks, participants cook, learn about nutrition, and participate in physical activity. FoodFit expands our ability to impact healthy changes, and is designed to break down social barriers that pose significant challenges to achieving optimal health and wellness. FoodFit classes will start again in January 2017, to register for the limited spaces please call Thressa at 403 320 8779 or email [email protected]. Classes will be held in the evenings and are free to everyone! Priority will be given to community members who self-identify as living in a low-income household.

Nutrition Counselling - Alberta Healthy Living (AHS)
The program provides free individual counseling and group education classes to individuals and their families diagnosed with chronic conditions and/or at risk of developing a chronic disease.The Alberta Healthy Living Program team works in the areas of:asthma, diabetes, dyslipidemia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), chronic heart failure, heart disease, hypertension and therapeutic exercise. Lifestyle based programs: Healthy Eating and General Nutrition, Physical Activity, Self Management.
