Jumpstart recreation/sport funding for year coming to an end

The Jumpstart system is doing their annual shut down on Nov 2nd.  It will not reopen until mid-January.  If you still need funding for any 2020 activities or any early 2021 activities, please apply asap at:  https://jumpstart.canadiantire.ca/pages/individual-child-grants   You can request $150 per application per child, and can put in up to 2 requests per child (though if funding is low they may only get one approved) for the same, or for different activities.

If families have applied for Jumpstart but not yet hear back, please note that it appears that any applications from late September on have not yet been reviewed so they will be hearing back in the next few weeks.

If families still need to access funding, the following subsidies are still available:

Kidsport – up to $200 per child per year for a sport (recreation, dance, and memberships don’t qualify), and they have access to the Calgary Flames Sports Equipment Bank for good quality used equipment:  https://kidsportcanada.ca/alberta/lethbridge-taber/apply-for-a-grant/  for online or paper application

City of Lethbridge Recreation and Culture Fee Assistance Program – up to $200 per household member (any age) for any recreational, sport, arts, or culture registration, membership, or equipment.  Application is online www.lethbridge.ca/feeassistance and questions can be sent to [email protected]

For those who do not have access to a computer to apply, please have them visit the library to use their computers or contact Lori at 403-360-1720 to be connected to other organizations that can provide support
