The Helen Schuler Nature Centre invites everyone to celebrate the change of seasons at Spring Nature Fest on Friday March 16 between 1:00pm and 5:00pm. The fourth annual family festival will provide an opportunity to enjoy the sights and sounds of the Lethbridge river valley and will feature activities by Waterton Lakes National Park, Environment Lethbridge and Lethbridge College.

Spring Nature Fest offers a mix of indoor and outdoor activities, including: nature walks, geocaching, crafts, live music, scavenger hunts, building challenges, a loose parts playground, seed bombs and much more!

“The river valley is a perfect place to celebrate the arrival of spring,” says Jessica Deacon-Rogers with the Helen Schuler Nature Centre. “Spring Nature Fest will help people notice the signs of spring around us and provide hope that nicer weather will arrive soon!”

Spring Nature Fest will feature an interactive display about bison by Waterton Lakes National Park. Participants will have an opportunity to make a seed bomb with Environment Lethbridge to take home and help support pollinators. Everyone will have the chance to get moving and be creative with Lethbridge College as they share Lethbridge’s first outdoor loose parts playground!  The Nature Centre will offer guided walks and geocaching throughout the afternoon.  Enjoy live music during the festival with the Lethbridge Buskers Association.

“We are proud to host the first loose parts playground in Lethbridge,” says Coreen Putman with the Helen Schuler Nature Centre. “Outdoor unstructured play is an important part of healthy childhood development.”

Spring Nature Fest will take place throughout the afternoon at no charge at the Helen Schuler Nature Centre.  With something for everyone, the family festival is a great chance to discover all that spring has to offer right in the heart of the city!
